Because we cannot live in a bubble to protect us from a chemical world, we need to create our own environment. Starting with water filtration. There is a saying; “buy a filter or become a filter”. If you invest in a good point of use water filter for your home, you will only be paying 4 cents per gallon for drinking water instead of up to $3.00 for bottled water. (Most bottled water comes from filtered tap water anyways,----if you’re lucky!) Don’t forget to get a shower filter as well, so you are not absorbing chlorine through your skin or the gas into your lungs. For baths, you can buy a anti chlorine ball to place in your tub water. The best way to go is with whole house filtration . Make sure your filter is NSF approved. Invest in a good furnace air filter, and keep the furnace fan running year round to circulate the air in your h0me, replace the filters every 3-6 months. Also room air filters in your living and sleeping areas. The new ozone type now returns oxygen, not ozone to the air, they work great---you would be amazed at what the grids pull out of the air you breath. Salt lamps are a natural way to purify and harmonize your room. Don’t burn paraffin based candles, soy candles are a better alternative. Turn the outside air off in your car when you are in traffic, near industry, or the airport. Buy an additional car air filter to clean the stagnant air in your car when you have to keep it closed up. They even have personalized air filters that hang around your neck when traveling in planes or while in any congested areas, it send purified air by your face instead of breathing in other’s germs. (Most can be ordered thru: http://www.sharingalternativesolutions.com/ .
Be very conscious of what your hands have come in contact with, keep them away from your face, wash hands well and often. Minimize cell phone use, try the wired head piece, less harmful rays reaching your brain. Also minimize microwave use-- with only microwave approved containers when you do.
Do not use any chemicals on your yard or gardens, use only natural cleaners in your home and for your laundry, they do just as good of a job and are not harmful to you. Try to wear only natural fabrics, not synthetics, for your bedding too. Ladies, try natural mineral type make-up and hair coloring. The same with your toothpaste, (read the label on your commercial toothpaste, it reads; “use only a pea sized portion, harmful if swallowed”--We let our children use this stuff ! Natural soaps and lotions too.
I saved the best for last: Make a goal to change to a plant based diet, this will boost your immune system to protect you from things we just can’t avoid. This is the key for total health. Drastic diet changes may seem overwhelming, so If your health can spare the time to make these changes a gradual process, start out with replacing milk, cheeses, sour cream, and ice creams, with those made from soy, rice, or almond. They are quite tasty and much healthier for you. Reduce meat (of all kind) until you are okay with eliminating it altogether. During this adjustment period, there are some tasty meat alternatives on the market such as ; veggie burgers, veggie dogs, chik-n patties, veggie ground meat, veggie bbq ribs, veggie breakfast patties- links & bacon. There are many brands, experiment to find the one that you like. When you use these veggie substitutes in your favorite recipes, you and others will probably not know the difference. The goal being to eventually reduce the dependence on the substitutes and fashion your diet around vegetables, fruits, whole grains, brown rice, legumes, nuts, seeds, and sprouts. Buy breads, pastas, rice, crackers, and snacks that are made from whole grains, (the ingredient listing needs specify -for example; whole wheat, not just wheat flour-which is highly processed and lacking nutritional value ).
Cut back on sugars, they are everywhere with many aliases; sugar, sucrose, fructose, dextrose, galactose, glucose, cane juice, corn syrup, rice syrup, and honey. Do not substitute with such poisons as Sweet and Low , Splenda, or Equal, they are either saccharine, ( a known carcinogen), or aspartame based both are very damaging to your health. If you don't have the time to read the enormous amount of compelling evidence that makes the case for why you or anyone you love should never consume aspartame, then I would strongly recommend ordering the video “Sweet Misery.” Without question, it is the single best summary of the issues of aspartame toxicity and some of the leading crusaders for bringing the truth to the public are in the film. The phenylalanine in aspartame dissociates from the ester bond and increases dopamine levels in your brain. This can lead to symptoms of depression because it distorts the serotonin/dopamine balance. It can also lead to migraine headaches and brain tumors through a similar mechanism. Furthermore, the aspartic acid in aspartame is a well-documented excitotoxin. Excitotoxins are usually amino acids, such as glutamate and aspartate. These special amino acids cause particular brain cells to become excessively excited, to the point they will quickly die. Excitotoxins can also cause a loss of brain synapses and connecting fibers The ester bond in aspartame is broken down to formaldehyde and methanol, which have their own toxicities. So it is absolutely no surprise that leukemia is associated with using it. Natural sweeteners such as Stevia and Xylitol are actually good for you and taste just like sugar! Read labels, look for answers, once you open a window to knowledge, the answers will flood in! The next few blogs will be articles supporting the above information.
